Dental Bridges

What is a dental bridge?

A false tooth held by the teeth beside it.

A bridge fills a gap with an artificial tooth, fixed to crowns on the neighbouring teeth. It stays in place and is not taken out for cleaning.

Dental Bridges: A gap with strong teeth either side.

Is it right for you?

A gap with strong teeth either side.

  • One or more missing teeth

Side by side, in the same gap.

  • Healthy neighbouring teeth

Strong enough to carry the bridge.

  • Healthy gums

Any gum problems are treated first.

  • A fixed option

For people who would rather not wear a removable denture.

How it works

Two crowns and a tooth, made as one.

Good to know

Your questions, answered.

How do I clean under a bridge?

Brush as usual, and once a day clean under the false tooth with a floss threader or a small interdental brush.

Bridge or implant?

A bridge is quicker and needs no surgery, but it relies on the teeth beside the gap. An implant leaves them untouched. Dr. Patel explains which suits your case.

How long does a bridge last?

Many years, with good cleaning and regular check-ups.
