Dental Fillings in Gota
Tooth-coloured fillings that repair decay and blend in.

What is a filling?
Repairing a tooth after decay.
The decayed part of the tooth is removed and the space is filled with a tooth-coloured material, shaded to match. The tooth looks and works as it should again.

Do you need one?
Signs of a cavity.
Sensitivity
A twinge with sweet, hot or cold food or drink.
A dark spot or hole
Brown or black marks on the biting surface.
Food getting stuck
In the same place, again and again.
A broken or old filling
Chipped, cracked or worn fillings need replacing.
How it works
Usually done in one visit.
- 01
Numbing
Local anaesthetic if the cavity is deep.
- 02
Cleaning out
The decay is removed and the tooth cleaned.
- 03
Filling
Tooth-coloured material is placed in layers and set with a blue light.
- 04
Shaping
The filling is shaped and polished so your bite feels right.
Good to know
Your questions, answered.
Do fillings hurt?
Small fillings often need no anaesthetic. For deeper ones the tooth is numbed first, so you feel little more than pressure and vibration.
How long does a filling last?
Many years, with good brushing and regular check-ups. Fillings wear over time and are checked at each visit.
Can I eat straight after?
Tooth-coloured fillings set at once under the light. If you were numbed, wait until the feeling returns so you don't bite your cheek.
