Tooth Extraction in Gota
Gentle removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, including wisdom teeth.

What is a tooth extraction?
Removing a tooth that can't be saved.
When a tooth is too damaged, infected or crowded to keep, it is taken out under local anaesthetic. Saving the tooth is always considered first.

Do you need an extraction?
Usually for one of these reasons.
Severe decay or a broken tooth
Damage too deep for a filling, crown or root canal.
Impacted wisdom teeth
Wisdom teeth stuck under the gum that cause pain or swelling.
Advanced gum disease
Teeth loosened because the bone around them is lost.
Crowding
Sometimes needed to make room before braces.
On the day
Numbed first, then removed gently.
- 01
Assessment
An X-ray shows the roots and the bone around them.
- 02
Local anaesthetic
The area is fully numbed before anything begins.
- 03
Removal
The tooth is loosened and lifted out. You feel pressure, not pain.
- 04
Aftercare
A gauze pad stops the bleeding, and you go home with clear instructions.
Good to know
Your questions, answered.
Will it hurt?
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic, so you should feel pressure but not pain. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is common and eases with painkillers.
What should I do after an extraction?
Bite on the gauze, and for the first day avoid spitting, smoking and drinking through a straw. Eat soft, cool food. This protects the clot that helps the socket heal.
Should the tooth be replaced?
Usually, unless it was a wisdom tooth. A gap lets the neighbouring teeth drift. An implant, bridge or denture can fill it.
